Already the ancient Romans had defined the “Karni” as strong, determined people with great woodworking skills: not surprisingly, these people were commissioned with the most important construction works of the time. The Most Serene Republic of Venice also knew this well, which for centuries used our shipwrights to build arsenals along the Adriatic Sea and then throughout the Mediterranean. Ports, warehouses and large vessels, made with wood from our mountains, harvested, processed and installed by our master carpenters. This is our solid historical base: people who have learned over centuries of work every secret of wood, passing it down from generation to generation.
